I was sick this week,
still am with a heavy cold,
so I did some more doodling,
letting go, letting the image evolve.
I've come to realise,
doodling is as much about what isn't,
as what is
right after doodling, I wrote this:
The thing is when you get to know your emotions, how they look and feel, it is possible to experience even the negative ones with such clarity that you know they are just right, exactly how they are meant to be in that moment. Not a murky soup or a deep ravine but crystal clear just like the positive ones. That way you can stand firm in them not wishing them away but being thankful for the work you have done and the insights they bring. When you accept that just as the sun is stronger in summer and it shines on the sunny side of the tree so you come to understand and relish the shadowy side too. With experience you learn how to seek balance between the two. Not wishing to have neither but learning to embrace the full breadth of life.
a few days later, I was down by the water
something happened that made me write this:
Standing as though floating on a wharf made of wood, staring out across the water, soaking in the view. Looking down there’s a pile of books read buy the reader who stands silently by. It’s the second book that catches her eye, a book of tales retold by a wise women about wild women who run with wolves. They converse slowly and rythmicaly, a little awkardly like the breeze blowing over the surface of the water, but deep below calm waters flow, for he is a gentle soul. Little is spoken but much is said before he turns to leave, silently, respectfully handing her a stone. She'll listen to it later when all is quiet. Looking up he and his friend are gone, disappeared in the distance. Is he a wolf or is she?
maybe it's being sick,
maybe it's the winter full wolf super moon
whatever it is it's dreamy,
Winter Dreaming I like to call it.
I gained soaked up the wisdom in this video
and pinned it to my board silence
I've done some coloured doodling too
but like Spring, that will come soon.
This blog is part of my Winter Dreaming, other posts in this series are:
